Aspen Systems was founded in 1984 with the goal of providing research and development services to its clients. The company has developed a catalytic cracking reactor that reforms diesel and other heavy hydrocarbon fuels. Hydrogen can be produced directly from the diesel, with yields of 50 per cent. The company is also working on hydrocarbon desulphurisation systems.
